Our Story
How it started
When William was applying to universities in the US from South Africa, he had no idea where to start. Which schools would accept international students? Which ones offered full scholarships? How do you write an essay that stands out? The information was scattered everywhere, and most of it wasn't relevant to international students.
After countless hours of research and figuring things out the hard way, he made it — earning a full scholarship to study in America. But he knew there had to be a better way for others. That's why he started sharing what he learned on TikTok. The response was overwhelming — over 100,000 people followed along, asking questions about scholarships, applications, and visas.
But one person can only do so much. That's when the team came together — international students from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond. They're all going through the US application process right now in 2025, bringing fresh, firsthand insights about what works and the challenges students face in their regions.
Culturo is everything we wish we had when applying. It's the guidance, the resources, and the community that can make the difference between giving up and getting that acceptance letter.
Our Mission
Why it's free
We believe that where you were born shouldn't determine your access to quality education. The US has some of the best universities in the world, and many of them offer full financial aid to international students — but most students don't even know these opportunities exist.
Expensive consultants charge thousands of dollars for advice that should be freely available. We're not interested in gatekeeping this information.
Culturo is free because we want to level the playing field. If you have the talent and the drive, you deserve a chance — regardless of your background.
